Quantum Materials & Chemistry

Rice University has a long tradition of cross-disciplinary research on quantum phenomena in matter — both molecular systems and crystalline solids. Since 2014 the Rice Center for Quantum Materials has sought to sustain and grow fundamental research on quantum materials on campus, through research collaborations, workshops, visitors and scholars, and developing partnerships.
